No words can describe the intensity and power of Back In Black. It is the perfect blend of heavy metal and rock.

I presume this is what one should get after Rocks & Toys In The Attic?

Anyway, I finally found time to complete this list... 3. Metallica - Master Of Puppets (1986) ![]() The album that sounded even more melodic than RTL, but still very heavy. Cliff Burton's bass is out of this world, and you just knew they were gonna make it BIG TIME. 1986 was a top metal year, and MOP grabs you without ever letting you go, even more than Reign In Blood. Favorite track: Battery

2. Metallica - ... and justice for all (1988)
![]() Dis record has no bazz, start of teh sellout with teh video, blahblah... Fuck it. It's very heavy, and a lot of the riffs are still the most complicated they ever done, e.g. the title track. AJFA has also some of Kirk's best solos, especially Eye Of The Beholder and Frayed Ends Of Sanity. To Live Is To Die is a sad song that doesn't sound of of place: dark lyrics written by Cliff, who of course died way too early. I don't want them to play this live actually. They got their big breakthrough with One, but it's not the best track here, and not even a personal favorite of mine. Favorite track: Blackened

1. Metallica - Ride The Ligthning (1984)
![]() A great year. I was born and this album was released. Hard to imagine now, but there were complaints that FTB uses acoustic guitars!!!! Trolls, they already existed... A more "finetuned" album than KEM, it's still crushing, or do you consider fight Fire With Fire fluff? Still the best opening song ever btw. There isn't a bad song on this disc, and I can safely say that this is my most played album. Favorite track: Fight Fire With Fire

It wasn't really trolling, it was the fact that Metallica spent so much time slamming glam bands and hair metal and then turned around and did the one thing a glam band was most likely to do musically: write a ballad. Fade To Black is a great song, but it only works because of it's morbid and bleak nature (which also works in favor of Hetfield's lack of ability to convey emotion vocally).

I obviously don't agree, but to each his own.
Btw, buy Aerosmith's GYW now. And realize how big a letdown Music From Another Dimension! is.
