Why do you weird hippie types in CA always insist on putting the word "the" in front of the names of freeways, anyway? The rest of just say the number and we're done with it already.

I'm not sure. Someone pointed that out to me a few years ago. I know the rest of the country just says the number, but we say "the" before it. I guess its just a bad habit.

And I don't think it took place in California.

But yeah, we never make highways definitive here either. It just sounds... awkward.
