Kamelot -- West Springfield, VA -- September 14th, 2012

Went to see Kamelot and A Sound of Thunder @ EMPIRE last night. We missed Cassandra Syndrome. Kamelot sounded GREAT, that new Tommy is a fitting replacement. I was rather rowdy during the show and was surprised I got any decent photos.

Alissa from the Agonist did backing vocals for Kamelot. I want to like her, but every liver performance has been underwhelming...

Apparently not- I read that she was touring with them, so I was initially confused when I saw a girl with blue hair (Elize ...dyed her hair? to look like Ms Agonist Alissa?...that doesn't seem right) as backup. Then one of the Tommys in Kamelot mentioned that it was in fact Alissa from The Agonist band.

So yeah, I dunno why no Elize on this one

The reason Elize wasn't at this particular show is because she was playing with her band Amaranthe at ProgPower USA on this day. I believe she will be joining the tour for the remainder of the dates.

I'm afraid to see this band without Khan.

Why's that?

I've seen them with Khan, with Fabio, and with Tommy.

Khan is my favourite, but Tommy is a fitting replacement. Fabio was great, but a little different. IMO

Be happy that you did. They're fucking terrible. They opened for Hellyeah as one of the local bands back in July and it was just a nasty site to behold.

WOW really- that bad? I'd need to hear them. Not a fan of HELLYEAH, but that seems like an....odd opener for them.
