Wait what? Dude do you really think that Iron Maiden have made a better live album than Live After Death, or that there's an official live Led Zeppelin album better than How the West Was Won? I'd say Tony's comparison is pretty apt.

This will be cool to see in theaters, but I'm not super excited for this. Now if they went and made a live album (or better yet, a whole boxset) out of the Earl's Court shows then shit would go down.

I actually think Bruce sounds terrible on Life After Death.

He can actually hit those notes nowadays.

I think Rock In Rio is their best live album.

You have a fair argument (although I think Bruce sounds far from terrible on Live After Death), but I don't know, Live After Death just has a little more energy to me and it just flows really well in terms of the tracklisting. I actually like how it has a full 1984 show to begin with, then throws a bunch of old songs as bonuses. Really though, all of Maiden's live albums from Rock in Rio onwards are great to listen to- Rock in Rio definitely has the best setlist though.

I'm just saying it's old vs. new. Seems pretty dumb to say "I have x live album so I won't buy this", expecially for someone that seems to buy up everything.

I didn't say I won't buy it. Unless it sounds like shit, then I won't buy it. It's just nothing to get excited about. Same as a new Maiden live album is nothing to get excited about. Now, if the setlist had been packed with rarities or something, that might be different. Or they'd played with an orchestra, or done something else cool and different. But it's just another straight live album. Regardless of which era it's from, it's not exciting.

He probably sounds a little rough on LAD because when they recorded that album, they had been on the road for like 9 months straight, and playing around 6 nights a week. I would have to go back and look at the tour schedule to see for sure. The Powerslave tour was so long and demanding, it's a miracle Bruce could sing at all after that trek. I believe it lasted more than a year, like I said I would have to go back and look at the tour dates. Most of that album was recorded at the Long Beach shows, which was very late in the tour. Plus Aces High was the first song, his voice wasn't warmed up yet and it got better as the album went on.
