People are going to get hurt. The Royale has a raised dancefloor (it's a nightclub) which makes it an absolute nightmare for pits. They normally don't have metal shows there for that reason. Besides that it's a decent venue, really upscale and the sound is hit-or miss (The first show I went to there the sound was dogshit, but the second time I was there in March the sound was pretty good).

I saw Macabre at a place with a raised floor like that. I hate that shit. The pits were pretty scary all night because of it, plus mostly everyone in it were shitfaced because it was a bar at like 1 AM.

Yeah I had a similar experience during Odd Future at the Royale. A bunch of people trying to mosh that clearly had no idea what they were doing. I was standing near the back of the floor and I got knocked off the edge about 30-40 times. Granted this show should be bad for pits (especially with this being Winstersun's first tour in god knows how long and Eluveitie who gets fucking huge pits going), but nowhere near as bad as The Ghost Inside/Miss May I show next month. hxC Dancers+raised floor= Multiple casualties guaranteed.

I'm intersted to see how this show at Royale plays out, I feel like that is a strange choice for a metal show, but I know its been done before so we'll see. Either way I am beyond pumped for this, Wintersun's album was one of the first extreme metal albums I bought and I still love it just as much as ever!

Definitely a weird choice of venue, considering all the herpaderps in Boston and the supposed anti-moshing being enforced.

Never thought I'd say this, but this show would've been perfect for Palladium Upstairs or Middle East Downstairs.

Since when is that actually being enforced?

Yeah, i've only been to shows at smaller clubs in boston since that started, except for Goldfinger at the HOB and the crowd was wild, but I havent seen any extra enforcement.

I havent seen it enforced, but I would be pissed if harmless pits were broken up because of that rule.

Definitely. The shows are fun and they get people going. Making for an even better night!

You heard right. I am not sure why it seems the Pagan/Folk/Viking/Etc Metal tours hit the SE every other year. Eluveitie has come to Atlanta every other year. The other years they seem to hit the Canada, Midwest and California. This is part of their Headlining tour for Helvetios and it has no stops in the capital of the SE, Atlanta? It makes no sense.

I am flying with a few friends from ATL to CHI. No other choices. Will stay with my parents. I had do this when they toured with Amon Amarth. Amon Amarth has a headlining tour with Eluveitie supporting and they did the same shit. Canada, Midwest and California.

See above. Not sure why this keeps happening.
