Uproar Fest -- Mansfield, MA -- August 26th, 2012
I went to the Uproar Fest on Sunday at the Comcast Center in Mansfield and it actually turned out to be a better day than expected! My friend and I got to the venue around 1:30 and went inside and walked around for awhile browsing everything as we had no interest in the first few bands.
The first band that we watched was In This Moment. I have seen them before and they were decent live but I really do not like their new album "Blood" and feel as though they have completely turned into a hard rock band. The set consisted of almost all songs off that album, and they didn't play "The Gun Show," which was the one song I was actually looking forward to seeing them play. Still, they weren't intolerable and seeing Maria on stage is never a bad thing. 6/10. Adrenalize Blazin' Whore Burn Blood Up next was Deuce. No thanks. Watched a couple of songs and left because it was unbearable. 2/10. Fozzy played next and did not disappoint! It was my first time seeing them and I was really lookng forward to it. The band sounded spot on live and Y2J is just as good on stage as he is in the ring. Fun set and I will definitely be looking to see them again soon. Very underrated band. 8.5/10. Spider in My Mouth Sandpaper God Pounds His Nails Sin and Bones Enemy Blood Happens P.O.D. closed out the side stages with a kickass set! They are a band I grew up liking but never actually saw live and they were a ton of fun! The crowd was into it, the pits were huge and there was crowd surfers everywhere. The band was full of energy and it was great hearing songs like Southtown, Boom, Alive, and Youth of the Nation live. Great set and great way to close out the side stages. They also played the chorus to Sublime's "What I Got" after they played Alive which was pretty cool! 9/10. Murdered Love Boom On Fire Without Jah, Nothin' Youth of the Nation Southtown West Coast Rock Steady Lost in Forever Alive Went to the main stage to find they weren't letting people onto the lawn just like at Mayhem Fest earlier this month, which was sort of a letdown. I guess the tickets aren't selling that great to either fest around here this year. Adelitas Way was the first band on the main stage. I had never heard of this band before and they did nothing to turn me into a fan. 3/10. Up next was Staind, who actually surprised me! I'm not the biggest fan of them but they sounded great live, Aaron Lewis truly is an excellent live vocalist. They played a bunch of their well known hits and it was actually an unexpectedly fun set! 7/10. Eyes Wide Open Right Here Now For You Paper Wings It's Been Awhile Not Again Outside Mudshovel Something to Remind You Finally the band my friend and I waited all day to see, Godsmack, hit the stage and like always, they were awesome! It was my second time seeing them and they are easily one of the best live bands I've seen out of the numerous shows I've been to. I grew up loving this band so just like the first time I saw them, it was a very fun, nostalgic set. They should have headlined! 10/10. The Enemy Keep Away Cryin' Like a Bitch Straight Out of Line Awake Re-Align Speak Voodoo Batalla de los Tambores Whatever I Stand Alone My friend and I left after Godsmack to beat the traffic (actually, quite a few people left after Godsmack) and because there was no way that Shinedown was going to top Godsmack's set. All in all, it was a pretty interesting day! A lot of bands that I truly could not give a shit about, but Godsmack, P.O.D., and Fozzy made the day worth the money! |

My buddy went to this and said it was really good. I had to pass cause I've seen Godsmack twice and their the biggest draw here for me, they are insane live! Seeing Staind would have been cool and I wouldn't mind seeing Fozzy, but otherwise this lineup doesn't do much for me at all. Good write-up though, I like those Staind and Godsmack setlists! If only Staind would replace Right Here with something else (Fade or Just Go preferably
) their set would be that much better.

I like how people act like Shinedown is not gonna be able to follow Godsmack. Have you seen Shinedown?

They should have headlined in Mansfield because it's their home turf. |

Shinedown is a bigger band, and both bands got 1 hour sets. Godsmack puts on a great show, but so does Shinedown.

I guess when it comes down to it Godsmack and Shinedown are two completely different sounding bands.
Also for Tinley Park POD didn't have that great of a crowd reception so at least someplace is enjoying them.

Godsmack is alot more energy, but Shinedown is a great live band. I am just a huge fan of the direction Shinedown is going. They act like they never made the first 2 records.

Shinedown is taking the route of arena headliners, which every couple years someone needs to do
