Exactly why I'm so pissed. It's a class I have once a week too so that's a big thing to miss. To make it even worse we have Fall break the Tuesday before so if I skipped to see GZA It would be a 3 week gap between classes.

Yeah I saw that and showed JD about the Chicago date. Only bad thing is it is the same day as Hatebreed and Hatebreed wins.

Thanks for responding. Yeah, I saw that Skeletits show. Too bad about that. Now it looks like I might not be making the trip after all. Still gotta figure out the travel schedule between me and the other guy on my team, but if I do go, I definitely won't be able to stay extra since my wife will be at home pulling her hair out with the kids as it is.

I'll probably end up being an exception to this, and I'll tell you why. My interest in going to shows got significantly rekindled about eight years ago when I realized there was a lot of awesome stuff going on in the metal scene at the time (prior to that, I was on an electronica kick for a while and so I didn't go to a lot of live shows). Since then, my family has been growing and my free time to go to shows has been dwindling, so I can never make as many as I'd like. When you're in a state of constant starvation, it's kinda hard to get burned out on good food, know what I'm sayin'?

Yeah, obviously. The reason it happens to everyone else, and may yet happen to you once the young'uns are older and you might be able to get to more shows, is the novelty has worn off. That's what it basically comes down to. You go to a handful of shows a year, those are carefully chosen shows, with bands you love, and each one of those is something to look forward to. You go to a handful of shows a week, that level of excitement cannot possibly exist for every one.

Can't argue with that. I do look forward to the day when I get to see so many shows that it starts to get boring, though. Then I'll know that all I have to do is back off slightly and I'll be at a perfect balance.

Yeah so no Power of the Riff for me It was just too expensive and I couldn't afford it right before going back to school. Oh well, at least I'm seeing Kataklysm/Fleshgod/Vital Remains tomorrow night Plus, I'm probably gonna go to a local black metal show on Friday night, so that should be a good time.

I don't know if it's just I don't feel live shows as much as I used too or I'm too exhausted to enjoy them. I'm constantly tired and the last time I remember having energy for a show was warped tour.
