Someone complained on my facebook that it wasn't the Nile they grew to know from Sacrfice and Iphallic(sp) and that made me think that this was gonna be terrible but I think the kid was just on drugs./

No fucking way is it their best album, but no fucking way does it suck. There are some cool moments, but they aren't as completely dominating as the best moments on, say, Those Whom the Gods Detest. It feels like about a four-out-of-five-stars kind of album for me.

Napalm Death and Sigur Ros are both on my radar, just haven't checked them out yet. Sigur Ros is meant to be expecially breath-taking.
The new Sigur Ros is one of the hardest to classify albums I've ever heard. It's not "filler" but it's not really "songs" either. Maybe you could call it ambient. Whatever it is, it's really good.

The new Nile is just decent. Would have been completely mediocre if Karl Sanders wasn't such a fucking great guitar player. Easily the worst album of their career.

True, Karl does continue to shred on this album, I'll give him that.

Gonna check out the new Ahab sometime soon as well.

Holy crap, I should have listened to the new Candlemass ASAP. Much better than expected, honestly.

See, this is what I'm talking about. All these extreme comments. Jesus Fucking Christ.

To those who haven't listened yet (or who are waiting based on comments like these), don't be discouraged. It's a damn decent album - just maybe not their best.

I agree with the Nat. Even if it is the worst of their career (which I don't think is true). I would still take Nile's worst album over 80% of the crap that is out there now.
