Glad to see the Lamb of God love. Definitely one of the Top 5 Metal relases of 2012 so far.

On an unrelated note The new Dirty Heads cd is in-fucking-credible start to finish. A great summer cd and by far my #1 non-metal release for 2012.

I should probably take note of this as well.

Not too similar but Ahab's Giant is doomy/post-y/ and proggy. I love it, my number 1 so far.

UFOmammut is all three of these. Fantastic fucking release.

Proper listening technique: carve yourself out an hour of time and listen to it with headphones from start to finish. Complete darkness is recommended, but not required.

New Gojira is okay, kinda dies after the first four songs and really lacks a good, strong closer. I should be getting the new Nile in the mail tomorrow but my expectations are low.

My top metal release of 2012 is still Napalm Death, but overall is probably the new Sigur Ros.

My view on Gojira is the exact opposite, I think its a total powerhouse, start to finish! I'm thinking the same for Nile though, the new song just did nothing for me.

Napalm Death and Sigur Ros are both on my radar, just haven't checked them out yet. Sigur Ros is meant to be expecially breath-taking.

Nope. I really dig it as well. It's a enough of a change up for them to not become stale, but it's also undeniably Nile. The 'clean' vocals are actually really good and still brutal.
