I think Slayer deserves to look pretty out of shape.

Interesting. So did any band (Slipknot/motorhead/slayer/anthrax in particular) sound bad or were people generally satisfied? How was the crowd (attendance wise)?

I wasn't there, so I can't answer your first question. However, I heard there were more people at this show than ever before. 25,000 people, I believe.

Yeah it was 26000+, the biggest Mayhem crowd in history they said. And the pit was wild.

I thought all the bands I went there for sounded great, I was in the pit though so I was very close to the amps.

During Slipknot the pyrotechnics were pretty fucking loud. And the stage setup/lights for Slayer/Slipknot was pretty awesome. The Marshall Amp upside-down cross setup for Slayer in particular, with flames shooting out of it.

The second Anthrax set posted and the Slayer and Slipknot sets look right... But I don't remember hearing Die By The Sword.
I experienced my first time being the drunk ass who gets dropped crowd surfing today... twice.
Also got punched in the throat in the pit during Slayer, not fun.

Die By The Sword wasn't played. Instead we got Strike of the Beast.
