Favorite Katatonia album?

Even though they don't play songs from them anymore (to my knowledge), you should start off with Brave Murder Day and Dance of December Souls, since they're Katatonia's best albums. Once you're well acquainted with those albums, listen to Night is the New Day, Viva Emptiness, and The Great Cold Distance in any order. They're the three best modern Katatonia albums.

They do on occasion. On some of the dates of the Opeth tour last year they pulled out "Without God" and "Murder".

This minus Viva for me. I went with Night but you can't go wrong with any of those.

I seriously love all of their work but Brave Murder Alone totally DESTROYS the rest of their discography.
