I'll be going regardless - it's just a matter of getting the details sorted.

I guess there won't be anybody from the forum to shoot the shit with, though, by the looks of things.

Oh well, I'll have a buddy of mine with me for the gig, and maybe my brother, too - so it's all good. Looks like they're playing quite an interesting set these days. I'm scratching my head on them NOT playing "Swarm" or "Demon" from the new album, but aside from that, it promises to be a killer evening.

Apparently Baroness will be playing new shit, too.

The point is, it's tough to compare due to the difference in time frames, types of fans, size of venues, rules about moshing, etc.

Both bands are fucking awesome and draw huge pits, so that's all one really needs to know.
I dunno, the craziest pit I've EVER seen was for Meshuggah during Future Breed Machine in 2003 or so. Never seen anything else like it.

For what it's worth, I'll be there with some friends.

Can't wait for the show though, it's gonna be awesome. One of the few tours where I can say I will enjoy every band.

Also, apparently they played In Death is Life/In Death is Death in their UK tour. They better do it here.

Meshuggah has probably picked up a lot more mathy/technical fans over the past 10 years, the pits aren't really that intense.
