I saw Anhedonist a few months back I believe, and it didn't really do much for me. Plus the crowd was insanely lame. I guess I can give it another shot eventually, I am just not into that style.

I assume you mean that you don't care for the doom side of Anhedonist? Dead Congregation and Grave Miasma are both great death metal without doom elements to them. Still bummed that Dead Congregation were one of the many dropped bands at RoD last year.
