Overall, is the above set list really all that surprising?
Is it just fun / accepted / normal to rip on Sepultura these days?
Does anybody really disagree that Sepultura was better when Max and Igor were in the band?
If not, then why keep bringing it up? Who are you trying to convince, when everybody already agrees?

The set isn't surprising, in fact it's mostly the same as their tour last year, but coming off of the Trashfest Classics Tour you'd think they might have been inspired to change it up a little. Obviously Thrashfest was a special tour, but they know what the fans want to hear and they were actually willing to give them that. It just feels like we've been shafted a little.

As for the discussion on the current Sepultura lineup, yes that seriously needs to be put to rest. I'm tired of reading the same conversation in nearly every Sepultura thread.

That was really my main point. The setlist bitching was secondary (and speaking of the questions I was asking, it's expected).

The problem is Sepultura had already gone to shit even when max was in the band. Roots and Chaos AD were groove laden feces that suck on all levels.

The difference with Cannibal Corpse was they never changed their core sound. Sure some dynamics changed with the vocalist no longer being the premier lyricist, but overall they never succumbed to any trend.

My problem isn't about the new lineup. Hell, I'd rather have this one than with the Cavaleras. I have a feeling that if Max was back in the band then we'd have Soulfly pt. 2.

The set is the real problem. They've got both people who have seen them back in the day when Arise came out and newer fans going to see them, and they both wanna hear the classics. None of this Dante XXI or whatever crap.
