This Will Destroy You -- Moscow, Russia -- April 12th, 2012
Let me put it this way: I've only been to two post-rock shows this year, and I've only been to two shows this year that have bored the fuck out of me. Coincidence? I wish it were. I love TWDY's studio material, but I regret going yesterday; staying home and catching up on Big Bang Theory would've been a more productive use of my time. As a whole, I wasn't too impressed with their live show, but the songs that did stand out as awesome live are marked below.
A Three-Legged Workhorse There Are Some Remedies Worse Than the Disease Burial on the Presidio Banks ![]() Glass Realms Communal Blood Quiet Little Smoke ![]() The Mighty Rio Grande ![]() Threads

I'm not familiar with this band specifically but I agree that I just haven't been able to get into "post-rock". I'm happy with rock.

As for not being familiar with TWDY, check out these songs: Threads, Little Smoke, The Mighty Rio Grande, and A Three-Legged Workhorse.

You might be right although I prefer decent post rock live over generic metal bands live.
I do love post rock though and would rank Russian Circles and sleepmakeswaves among my favorite live bands. I haven't seen too many other post rock bands but Mono, Beware of Safety I've enjoyed. Pelican was a little flat when I saw them.

When I saw them, the new stuff sounded super loud and annoying...the bass was overpowering everything and it was horrible. But the old stuff from the Young Mountain EP sounded great and they played like 3 songs from that EP.
I listened to the new album and while it's different, I loved it but it doesn't come off well live at all. |

I'm seeing Russian Circles tomorrow, so I'll make sure to write a review for that too.
