They're not just lousy, they're horrendous. Not to mention they'll probably drive prices up. I don't even like ZZ all that much either.

I agree, provided it doesn't interfere with the length of set the headliner is playing. Also, I will sometimes reconsider if we're talking about one of those shows with like FIVE fucking openers. But there's no way that one or two crappy support bands would ever stop me from seeing a band I cared about.

This exactly. ZZ Top will still play 90 minutes.

Two valid reasons I can think of:

1) There are only so many decent viewing spots in the venue and if you don't have a reserved seat you're going to have to suffer the support just to get the good spot for later (whatever it is you actually consider to be a good spot)

2) As someone said, shitty support acts with a substantial following of their own on a package tour often drive prices up.

It would just make more sense to wait it out since ZZ Top tours constantly and they'll probably have better support (couldn't get any worse), maybe a band you actually want to see.

I think I'll have to go see ZZ Top in Hinckley, MN. They were badass when I saw them a few years back.

Eh, might hit up the Insbrook show if the tickets arn't too pricey. I have a bunch of friends that would be interested in this. Support will be dreadful though.
