It's a real shame Psycroptic had to ruin their music by getting such a shitty vocalist. Whenever I think about giving the new album another listen I stop myself because I know the vocals will just piss me off and distract me the whole time. Oh well, at least the new Asphyx fucking rules.

I really can't see why people have a problem with psycroptic's vocalist, he sounds fine to me, and sometimes I really like him. It's a different sound for tech death.

On a side note, I had my volume down and didn't realize blind guardian's bright eyes was playing on youtube then I selected a psycroptic track to play and turned the volume up.. it sounded incredible and synched up perfectly with blind guardian vocals :-p

Officially listened to 10 albums this year and my top 5 so far go to:

1. Eluveitie - Helvetios
2. Goatwhore - Blood for the Master
3. Orange Goblin - A Eulogy for the Damned
4. Xandria - Neverworld's End
5a. Corrosion of Conformity - Corrosion of Conformity
5b. Veil of Maya - Eclipse

The ones that didn't make my list were the new efforts from Lamb of God, Lacuna Coil, Bleeding Through and Primal Fear.

I actually dig the new Psycroptic album a lot. Like its already been mentioned, the musicianship is quite brilliant and the vocals don't bother me at all. Yes, its a different approach from what you get in tech death usually but I find myself enjoying this album as much as The Scepter.

It's possible that maybe if I had never heard old Psycroptic before it wouldn't bother me as much...But I have, so I understand how good the vocals used to be, and thus how good the new album could have been.
