Metalisart's 10 favorite albums
10. Aerosmith - Get Your Wings (1974)
![]() There's nothing wrong with seventies Aerosmith, in fact, it's among the best music ever made IMHO. Even though Joe & Brad didn't play on all tracks (something I only know for about a year or so), this album should've been as huge as the next two: from Same Old Song & Dance to Lord Of The Thighs : raw energy. I'm sure it must've been wild to see the boys live back then. Jack Douglas produces for the first time and he's the George Martin of his generation. He even added applause to Train Kept A-Rollin', taken from Frank Zappa concerts... Favourite track: Lord Of The Thighs

9. Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin (1969)
![]() Well yes, I do think their first album is their best. Rolling stone hated them, but now they are the heaviest band ever according to that sh*t magazine ![]() It's no metal, but as hard as rock can be. Favourite track: Good Times Bad Times More to come...

8. Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (1973)
![]() It's not teh Paranoid, but that has a logical explanation: I like to go against teh grain. This album shows some "other" influences, (Looking For Today, Who Are You) which would only be explored further on their next album, the underrated Sabotage (1975). So in that case, you COULD say that it's not good, because it's not always hard metal anymore. Wrong: with the exception for Who Are You, this album is as intense as you expect from this band: the titletrack grabs you with a killer riff (duh) and is easily one of their best songs, why they didn't play it much live is a mystery to me. Even the piano & keyboards on Sabbra Cadabra fit like a glove, nice percussion too. All in all, this album made me a lifelong Sabbath-fan. Favourite track: Killing Yourself To Live.

You're not going angainst the grain by picking this over Paranoid. A lot of Sabbath fans rate this album higher. Plus, the title track is better than anything off Paranoid so SBS has the album beat right off the bat. Then you also have A National Acrobat, Killing Yourself To Live and Spiral Architect which are some of Sabbath's best songs. This album is also my favorite from the Ozzy era.

7. Motörhead - Ace Of Spades (1980)
![]() Well, where would Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth etc be without this band? I know that Lemmy insists that they are rock & roll, but do you honestly think that he doesn't know that his band is one of the "thrash creators"? Every single track hits you like a hammer, incredibly catchy too. And they must have played Ace about 250.000 times now... The only thing that bothers me is that casual listeners only seem to acknowledge the title track. Never mind that bullocks. OWN this album, even more than No Sleep. Favourite track: The Chase Is Better Than The Catch
