Stu Block is phenomenal. I never really got into IE's studio stuff, but they brought it live. Caught a drumstick (my very first!), got a setlist, and bought a t-shirt after the gig.

Yeah, I was surprised that it was mostly Iconoclast stuff because I thought they would be changing it up a bit more, but I haven't seen them since 2008 and really missed them. Still one of my favorite bands ever.

I'll probably catch this tour again in Worcester in March.

That's a cool set from Iced Earth, and even if Symphony X's set is a little too Iconoclast heavy, I'm sure I'll have a ton of fun nonetheless. It's a good thing that Iconoclast is so damn consistent as an album, otherwise I'd be pretty disappointed with the set. No Smoke and Mirrors is a bummer though.

WHAT?!

They made a survey a few months ago, to choose from each SX record our favorite 4 songs, and the 3 most voted...will enter to a possible setlist to the 2012 tour

and here we see the same setlist of last year, I don't get it xD

I think after Nevermore and Soilwork dropping out on the last tour, not enough people went to see them last time. Now they are making sure those songs are being heard.

All I can complain about is the lack of Paradise Lost (the song) and the variation on the Iconoclast songs. Light Up The Night needs to be played live.

Iced Earth's set is perfection!

I am so tired of hearing Paradise Lost...it kills the mood at every show I've seen it in. I think When All is Lost is a much more upbeat song at the end so its a better replacement.

I've yet to see them live, so i have the right to complain.

Huh, both bands playing exactly the same setlists as in Europe.

Not surprised about IE. But SX were going to play a varied setlist from all the albums for this tour. Mike LaPond even told me that himself. He said doing all the Iconoclast stuff was only for the European tour because they couldn't play the new songs the first time they came through in March/April.

Are IE still selling the tour-only CD single of the Dante's Inferno re-recording? That's all I bought on the European tour because I didn't like any of the new shirts, and I bought one on the Summer tour with Barlow.

The three song encore was from Paradise Lost. Three songs from one album is pretty good when the band is promoting a new record. The problem right now is they play fairly short sets because of the way these tours are packaged. They are co-headlining this tour. The last time I saw them, they played with two other bands and that's after Nevermore and Soilwork dropped out. If they could play 20 more minutes, they could play more songs from the back catalog like Smoke and Mirrors, Sea of Lies and Evolution the Grand Design.

Mike Lepond told me that that poll wasn't for this tour, it was to help determine future setlists, and the possible setlist for finally shooting a DVD sometime in the future.

So weird that Iced Earth isn't playing Burning Times, I thought that was one of those songs they will never NOT play. Stoked that Damien, When the Night Falls, and Stand Alone are still in the setlist, but I really would love to see Pure Evil. Not bad at all though.
