and to the guy who referred to Stinkfist, 46 & 2, Schism and Aenema as "the hits" and that's why they'll never be benched...You can say that Opiate, Sober & Prison Sex are "the hits" too, so why can't we hear one of those instead of Schism? Schism is so overplayed, both live and on the radio, etc. that no one would shed a tear if it was given a break. I've heard he doesn't want to perform Prison Sex anymore, but Sober or Opiate would work.

Some would rather have new material from an incredible band than a average live show (only bc of Maynard, not the rest of the band) that is way way to short for the amount of $ they charge.

to the guy who asked me about 4th Eye, yes i check that site every few days to see what the latest non-news is.
This, and all kinds of it. My wife wanted me to go see Tool with her but she's going with her best friend instead because I've already seen them tour 10,000 Days. Honestly, Tool are a good band, but they're not THAT good. I want a new album before another Tool show.

based on how Maynard performs live now (as opposed to back in say '97/'98), Tool is now one of the few bands i'd rather listen to on record than see live. And that's sad bc Carey is still such a beast on the drums and a pleasure to watch. Maynard's standing in the shadows schtick has worn thin, and i find the vocals to be too low in the mix. Based on the youtube videos and bootleg i d/l, that part hasn't changed yet...not that i thought it would.

I see Maynard as the least important part of the show, its all about Danny, Adam and Justin, the visuals, and just the atmosphere in general.

Gotta say I pretty much agree with this. Tool shows are great because of the musicianship, visuals and atmosphere.

That would only make sense if the fibonacci sequence was a fancy term for something else, but it's not. That's what it's called.

I agree about Maynard being the least important element. I used to view it as the exact opposite, but over the years, I've really come to appreciate Justin and Danny the most. I love Adam's visuals as well, but let's be honest, Danny is the driving force of the band at this point.

I had the pleasure of seeing Tool for the first time on their 2009 tour, and it was a pretty standard setlist. I'm glad to see they're finally changing it up - even if Maynard is sending a pretty obvious message to the fans.

I've got my fingers crossed that I'll get to hear an extra song or two at the Atlanta date, since its the last day of the tour.
