This is the worst thing I've read in this thread so far.

Ok I guess I will say more.

Is this the perfect list? By no means. But I do think it is very well covered and represented from Thrash, to Power Metal, to Prog, To Doom, To Groove Metal to Extreme Metal. What's really missing?

Maybe I'm delusional, hell, not even all these albums made it in my top 55. But It's pretty well rounded, and again there is at least one album for everyone on here.

I'm the biggest "meh-er" about post-Leviathan Mastodon, but if you've heard Curl of the Burl and think that The Hunter shouldn't be in the top 10, you're crazy. 2 may be a little high, but still.

Also, I should have put Anaal Nathrakh a few spots higher. It might have pushed it over the edge.

It's really a stretch to say the presence of an IE album makes Power Metal represented.

But honestly, even if a couple of those albums made it on there, I wouldn't really be disappointed.

Power Thrash is still Power Metal. And Hell just the fact Iced Earth even made it in the top 10 is an accomplishment to me.

I don't recall hearing anything Power-ish on Dystopia.

For people not liking Iced Earth for power metal, Symphony X was #12, Dream Theater was #15, and Redemption was #27.

Except there is no Power Metal in DT or Redemption.

Symphony X, yes. Light Up The Night is pure Power Metal.
