This is also true. Goblin could have been great if he just left all the bullshit off the album. With just the good songs it could have had a solid 45 minute run time.

I don't see what's so bad about it anyway, aside from sounding too much like Wolves in the Throne Room. If they had started out in this style I bet they would have a lot more fans.

It doesn't sound like Wolves in the Throne Room, though. Or like Altar of Plagues, or like Burzum, or like Alcest, etc. etc. It's that idea filtered through standard-issue meloblack songwriting and crisp, neutered production.

I think they sound very alike. I admit I'm not a fan of Wolves in the Throne Room, but this was the first song that came up when I searched them on YouTube and it happens to be pretty similar to the new Abigail Williams. That's just my take.
