Not sure how many people here loved James LaBrie's Static Impulse album from 2012. but that whole lineup is writing as we speak, with Peter Wichers producing.

This will be the best Prog Metal of 2012. How do I know? Because Peter made Darkest Hour finally not suck without Kris Norris in the band.

According to a new update from the band (yesterday I think) the new Katatonia record is expected to be released before summer

Goblin's biggest weakness was being an 80-minute joyride. It's almost irrelevant which direction he moves in sonically as long as he focuses.

The biggest weakness of Goblin for me at least was the amount of filler on the record. The stuff that hits (Tron Cat, Yonkers, She, Golden, Nightmare, Sandwitches) is fucking great, but there was way too many subar/shit songs to make that record truely great. I am curious to hear what Tyler would sound like with "chill beats", so I am definitely intrigued to hear that album.
