Maybe it was just bad sound for them, or maybe they've become shitty performers since the last time I saw them on Summer Slaughter. Either way, I didn't enjoy myself. Even their only stand-out song, "Dechristanize," was pretty fucking bad.

4.
Abigail Williams
opening for Melechesh and Rotting Christ

Really, really bad symphonic black metal with deathcore parts. They put on a mediocre performance as well. Hopefully when I see them with Dark Funeral they'll be better because they sound like WITTR now.

3.
Last Chance to Reason
opening for Revocation and Atheist

I... I don't even... what? Progressive/technical deathcore, sorta djenty...not my bag at all. The vocalist was doing the worst pig squeals ever, and he looked simply retarded while doing them It was just terrible. Holy shit...

2.
Denial Fiend
opening for Obituary

They sound like they would be a decent death-thrash band (they have Terry Butler, Sam Williams, Rob Rampy, and Blaine Cook), but...they're not. They're, um... really, really bad I thought they sounded okay when I listened to them on Spotify, but hearing them live was pretty traumatic. I left after about two or three songs.

1.
Atheist
headlining short East coast tour with Revocation

Most of the time when people on this board say "I'm gonna get flamed for this," they end up not getting flamed at all. I dunno why. But I know I'm gonna get flamed for this. You know what? I hate Atheist. I think they're one of the worst bands I've ever heard in my life. But it's not just that I don't like them on record. Their performance sucked. It SUCKED. I can't believe I stayed a whole hour. I can't believe I wasted a precious hour of my life on that. Frankly, I cringe at the memory. It was that bad.

.....the fuck?

The only band I haven't heard of Denial Fiend, but mainly LCTR and Atheist.

Having seen/hung out with Abigail Williams, and vital Remains being....VITAL REMAINS, this just blows my mind.

I really enjoyed Vital Remains live, but I'll agree that Abigail Williams was pretty meh-tastic. Not unbearable, though.

Still can't tell if trolling, or sad you actually had a real thought about that.

If anything I'm more pissed about how you are a metal fan and say Atheist and Vital Remains sucked live.

I was never a huge Atheist fan, but I enjoyed their performance GREATLY. That drummer is amazing.

Steve Flynn is one of my unsung inspirations. His work on Unquestionable Presence is awe-inspiring.

I can definitely understand Vital Remains as well. The first couple times I saw them they were awesome, but this year at Hate Eternal/Origin, they were pretty lacking. Not to mention that their set list pretty much hasn't changed in the 4 times I've seen them

If there's anything right in the world, this song will go down as a post-hardcore epic. Each song's lyrics on this album are moving, but this one puts me to metaphorical tears (it does make me shiver, though). The frontman I assume is narrating a story in which he floats as a ghost to a recent crime scene where a drive-by murder struck the wrong person, a young kid. The story is extremely moving and my favorite part is how the many different riffs in the song all seem to follow the words. For example, the guitars suddenly speed up rapidly during the climax of the story in which the murderer has locked himself up in a hotel room threatening to kill himself. This song is just beautiful. As far as post-hardcore goes, I think Touche Amore's latest album, also released this year, is a lot better than Wildfire, but this song kills every single song in Touche Amore's catalog, quite frankly.

King Park (with lyrics)
Nice. FYI the album is called Wildlife.
