Thanks man! I feel a majority of these are locals or EPs, but again, i didn't feel too good about this year musically. It wasn't bad, but it was hard to make a big list of albums that I REALLY liked. The top 4 are the ones that blew me away the most. I'll get to them as soon as possible... I need to catch up on Skyrim today

Well since my computer got stolen and I am yet to replace it and all I have is my work computer (HOLY RUN ON SENTENCES BATMAN) I will just post the top four quickly as I have no time to type up a huge review

4: Primordial - Redemption At The Puritans Hand
This album was a surprise. I didn't even know they had a new album coming out and saw it in a record store, picked it up, loved it. I feel its better than "To The Namless Dead", which was a masterpice IMO.

3: Septicflesh - The Great Mass
I wasn't expecting much from this album since "Communion" was amazing, but this was surprised me. The songs are catchy and amazingly written, and the orchastral parts are done perfectly. See them live if you can, great experience.

2: Oakhelm - Echtra
Oakhelm is a band from Portland, OR. The album is only 4 or 5 tracks, but they are all freakishly long and amazing. If it wasn't for the next band being my favorite band, then this would take number one, no questions asked.

AND THE BEST ALBUM, IMO, OF 2011......

ABSU - ABZU
This is no questions asked as Absu has become my top band. Everything about them is just perfect to me, and since I am a drummer I can take a lot from this band and craft it into my own styling. From beginning to end this album delivers. I was disappointed with the reviews it got, since it is an instant classic. It runs at just over 30 minutes (or so), but the raw aggression and tastyness of it makes it worth every second. BUY IT.

Up next I'll post some honorable mentions, best live bands of the year, disappointments (yes, Morbid Angel will be on it) and maybe others.
