Yeah, I recognize a lot of the same guys at shows now in Chicago. It's kind of cool, and at least you know who to look out for since you know they're gonna be getting physical.
#1 is coming up in a couple minutes... |

1. TRAPPED UNDER ICE - BIG KISS GOODNIGHT
![]() Was there any real doubt it wouldn't be this? It's without a doubt the album that came out this year that I listened to, and enjoyed, the most from any genre. After a string of EP's, and 2009's Secrets of the World LP, Big Kiss Goodnight is TUI's first fully thought out, mature album as a band. Stay Cold was a fucking incredible, perfect, genre-influencing EP back in 2008 for modern hardcore, and this album comes close to being just as memorable and important for a full-length effort. Above all, the songs are catchy. Back to back to back, almost all the songs completely rock. TUI have their own style, and rock it hard. I think most people either love or hate this band, but I recommend them to everyone. They're the best "new-wave-of-hardcore" band out there in my opinion. Oh, and: ![]() It's from "Born to Die", but I can't find a good Youtube link for it. ![]() Notable Tracks (everything is fucking amazing, but here are my favorites): Pleased To Meet You Outcast Oh, and the awesome amazing heaviest hardcore song written in the last 5 years re-recorded: Reality Unfolds Last edited by jd091; 12-19-2011 at 08:49 PM. |

Nice list, mine would look very similar. Take Offense and Backtrack would prolly be higher like 3 and 4.

There are some great songs on that album ("Still Cold" is one of my favorites by them), but some mediocre ones too. Also, the beginning of "Outcast" makes me think of Limp Bizkit.

BKG is a great album. HOWEVER, I totally agree w/ treg, there are a couple so-so tunes. And yes, the new version of Reality Unfolds is just awesome. Still Cold still remains my favorite TUI record, but BKG is still solid.
Overall, a great list!

But it's an awesome Limp Bizkit!
There's no hiding the rap influence TUI has, but I really like it. The rapped breakdown in Believe is like, my third favorite breakdown of all time. |
