Dream Theater -- Mesa, AZ -- December 4th, 2011

Finally got to see DT do a headlining set for the first time since I started listening to them in 2006! When they didn't announce a date on the main tour with Trivium I had given up on seeing them headline here until they announced this date.

The show was flawless, possibly the greatest performance of musicianship that I've ever seen. The band was spot on, and I've never heard LaBrie sound so good. Mangini BLEW me away, playing one of the best drum solos I've heard. Highlights for me were Endless Sacrifice, The Ytse Jam, Fatal Tragedy, Breaking All Illusions and Under A Glass Moon.

Intro: Dream is Collapsing
Bridges in the Sky
These Walls
Build Me Up, Break Me Down
Endless Sacrifice
Drum Solo
The Ytse Jam
Outcry
The Silent Man (Acoustic)
Beneath the Surface (Acoustic)
On the Backs of Angels
Forsaken
Through Her Words
Fatal Tragedy
Breaking All Illusions
---------------------------------------
Under A Glass Moon

It's a great set to me. Still bummed this didn't come to Minnesota, maybe in 2012?

There were rumors of a second North American leg in 2012 but I doubt it.

I didn't even know they were here. Was this at Mesa Amp?

Boy, they really need to drop Forsaken, sick of that song...I hope when they come to southamerica drop that song or have the lucky to get the other setlist

I would replace it with The Ministry of Lost Souls

James said that they were hoping to come out in the Spring of next year but they said no guarantees. and it was at the Mesa Arts Center. Really nice venue for a concert, great sound and visuals.
