Same, I am seeing them on an off-date with Zoroaster (they're local) and The Body soon. Excited as hell

Landmine Marathon - Gallows

Landmine Marathon is one of the most badass death metal bands around today. Granted, they worship Bolt Thrower a bit too much, but they're much more modern-sounding, and they've got a bit of their own sound as well. If you've never listened to them before, I'd urge you to check them out immediately.

Anyway, on to the album. At first listen I was a bit disappointed. No memorable songs or anything. It felt like they were going in the absolutely same direction (not necessarily a bad thing) but not pushing themselves at all. It took several more listens but it's finally warmed up to me. There are a couple memorable songs, actually. However, it is important to note that this album is still nowhere near as good as their previous album, Sovereign Descent. But since these guys have such a unique sound, it's always refreshing to hear them with new material.

Good pick. I've been pretty surprised to see this album nowhere on anyone else's list.

It was #19 on DethMaiden's list, and it just MIGHT be on mine when I get around to finalizing it.

I was unsure on first listen but after listening to it a couple of more times, it really grew on me and has a good chance of making mine too.

All Pigs Must Due - God is War

All Pigs Must Die is a hardcore "supergroup" made up of members from Converge, The Hope Conspiracy, and Bloodhorse. This is basically modern hardcore at its finest. You've got your chaotic metallic hardcore elements (Converge), your grindy shit, more mathy-sounding dissonance ala Dillinger Escape Plan, "epic" Entombed-core ala Trap Them, and top it all off with a thin layer of crust. Mmmmm

I wasn't a huge fan of their first EP but this is a huge improvement. Check it out!

Get the fuck out, Gallows is easily their best album yet. The production is raw but clear, and there are no filler songs. Kudos to having it on the list though, as someone previously stated the album has been pretty much ignored by most people's lists.
