Judas Priest -- Toronto, Ontario -- November 22nd, 2011
What a show!!! 3 great bands with 3 fantastic performances!!!!!!
First up, Thin Lizzy!!!! Legendry Irish Hard Rock band.. but unfortunately I got there during their last song which was Boy's Are Back In Town, which is really the only song I know by them anyway.. but they were interesting to watch regardless. Next up, Zakk Wylde & Black Label Society!!!!!!! Man oh man how I love this band. They played a killer fucking set and Zakk just puts every guitarist to shame when he shredds on his guitar. Crazy Horse Funeral Bell Bleed For Me Suicide Messiah Overlord Parade Of The Dead Fire It Up Guitar Solo Godspeed Hell Bound Concrete Jungle Stillborn Finally, JUDAS PRIEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First time ever seeing them and sadly my last since this is their "fair well tour" But holy shit they delivered!!!!! It was like watching them 25-30 years ago all over again!!!!!!! Mr. Rob Halford has still got it and I just got chills everytime he hit those high notes!!! Battle Hymn (Intro) Rapid Fire Metal Gods Heading Out To The Highway Judas Rising Starbreaker Victim Of Changes Never Satisfied Diamonds & Rust Dawn Of Creation Prophecy Night Crawler Turbo Lover Beyond tThe Realms Of Death The Sentinel Blood Red Skies The Green Manalishi Breaking The Law (Halford didn't sing a single word.. pure audience) Painkiller ------ The Hellion Electric Eye Hell Bent For Leather You've Got Another Thing Comin' ------ Living After Midnight Last edited by passty; 11-22-2011 at 08:10 PM. |

What a show indeed! Saw them last week in Rochester and it was epic. Priest and Halford at 60 years old, and doing it better than anyone. By the way, it's nice to see someone appreciate Zakk and BLS instead of someone ragging on them.

Thin Lizzy was awesome. I know they're more of a tribute band now but they've got the killer tracks and the killer riffs and are perfect as an opening band.
Black Label Society was half good, half bad. Overlord, Stillborn, Bleed For Me, Parade of the Dead and Godspeed Hellbound, I liked but the rest is meh and the ten minute guitar solo...Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz And finally Judas Priest. My favorites songs played were Blood Red Skies and Prophecy. Breaking The Law would have been up there if it had been sung. Side note: The stage set up was cool with the banners and screens and chains over the amps, and the laser lights were amazing. EDIT: Also, I'm note sure about this but I don't think Epitaph is a farewell tour. It's just their last world tour. Last edited by Phil709; 11-22-2011 at 09:30 PM. |

How can you not like BLS???? They're goddamn amazing. But, my only flaw with them is that I feel Zakk tries a little to hard to sound like Ozzy when he sings.. aside from that, incredible

Not true. Re-read the OP's post.

Quote:
TL were excellent but played for mostly an empty room and Priest were excellent with a "reborn" Rob Halford, which was much more energized than on the 2005 and 2008 tours I attended. Didn't rely a lot on his teleprompter, walk the stage all show long and spoke to the crowd a lot. |
