I'm a little bit uncomfortable making the comparison, since one is a tech-death outfit and the other is a progressive thrash band. Kinda apples-and-oranges to me. Both are certainly awesome. Maybe I'll vote later.

Although I haven't heard the new one, Revocation to me definitely is NOT progressive thrash. In fact, they're kind of an amalgamation of several old-school genres done in an old-school kickass kind of way.

I was talking about Vektor when I said that.

I voted "Who?" Not because I don't know who these bands are, but because come on, neither are that fucking good.

Over-rated? Maybe. Not good? C'mon, man. Are you TRYING to establish yourself as the crotchety elitist hipster oldfag on this forum, or what?

Oh wait...too late.

EDIT: Does anybody else see the extreme irony of me calling Brad an oldfag?

Revocation definitely isn't tech death. They are much closer to thrash then death.

From Encyclopedia Metallum:

Country of origin: United States
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Status: Active
Year of creation: 2006 Genre: Technical Death/Thrash Metal
Lyrical themes: War, Chaos, Pestilence
Current label: Relapse Records

Besides, my primary point was that I think the albums and bands are somewhat different from each other - making them difficult to compare - and I stand by that observation.

I don't consider Revocation thrash. They are more death then thrash, but both albums are pretty technical.
