Sebastian Bach -- Las Vegas, NV -- October 18th, 2011

Sebastian Bach
October 18, 2011
The Crown Nightclub @ The Rio Hotel & Casino

This was a free show where Sebastian Bach came out and fronted the Sin City Sinners, a popular local rock act, and they did a number of covers. Usually, I'm not a fan of the Sinners at all, but they put on one hell of a show last night. Bach came out at about 12:15AM and rocked with the band for about 35 minutes, playing the setlist below. All I can say is, the guy still has pipes.

SETLIST:
Slave to the Grind
Kicking and Screaming
18 and Life
Youth Gone Wild
I Remember You
Whole Lotta Love [Led Zeppelin cover]
Cry Me A River [Lesley Gore cover][snippet][w/ Jimmy Crespo on guitar]
Train Kept A Rollin' [Aerosmith cover][w/ Jimmy Crespo on guitar]
Don't Stop Believin' [Journey cover]

Though I missed the very beginning of the show, I caught a bit of the Sinners set leading up to the guest spot by Sebastian. They play a mixture of originals and covers with specials guests. Brent Muscat, the lead guitarist, used to play in Faster Pussycat, the drummer used to play in Raging Slab, and the singer/rhythm guitarist, Todd Kerns, plays in Slash's band. Not sure on the bassist though. In a night, they typically have guitarist Jimmy Crespo (ex-Aerosmith), Paul Shortino (ex-Quiet Riot/Rough Cutt) and Louis Merlino (Beggars & Thieves). Thankfully, Shortino wasn't there tonight...the one time I watched him was pretty laughable. This is was I caught leading up to Bach:

PARTIAL SETLIST:
[Unknown Original]
[Unknown Original][w/ Louis Merlino]
House of Pain [Faster Pussycat cover][w/ Louis Merlino]
Toys in the Attic [Aerosmith cover][w/Jimmy Crespo]
Lightning Strikes [Aerosmith cover][w/ Jimmy Crespo]
Same Old Song and Dance [Aerosmith cover][w/ Jimmy Crespo]
Walk This Way [Aerosmith cover][w/ Jimmy Crespo]
Bathroom Wall [Faster Pussycat cover]

Faster Pussycat covers? WOW....

Brent is a pretty good guitarist and that def explains the FP covers..

Is it me or does this seem like kind of like a short set for Bach?
How big was the crowd?

It was a short set because he was just a special guest singer that evening. Rather than his normal backing band, the Sin City Sinners performed all of the Skid Row and Bach songs as well as the covers.

I'd say the crowd was between 200-300 people. It wasn't too busy at all.
