Opeth -- Columbus, OH -- September 26th, 2011
Venue: Newport Music Hall
Source: Me The Devil's Orchard I Feel The Dark Face Of Melinda Porcelain Heart Nepenthe Throat Of Winter Credence Patterns In The Ivy II Closure Slither A Fair Judgement Hex Omega Encore: Folklore I have to say this show was one of the best I've seen in a while. Sound and lighting was awesome for the show. All the new stuff was amazing live! Overall the crowd was into the set being more of a chill show. I think by now everyone pretty much knew what to expect. Only problem was there were people who really didn't understand what was going on and what the deal was. Just because there are softer parts in the songs doesn't mean you should talk up a storm with your buddies about how cool your cell phones are. There were quite a few "shut the fuck ups" tonight. If you really like great musicianship and Opeth (they kind of go hand in hand) then you need to see this tour. For those interested, shirts were $20 and $30. Hoodie was $40. Beanie was $10. Patch was $5. Last edited by petrovar; 09-26-2011 at 10:32 PM. |

Oooh, a beanie! I'll probably get that. Sweatshirt is a little pricey, too, but I'll probably break down and get one. As well as a shirt. Setting aside that money right now.

I got the hoodie and it is awesome and totally worth the money. The front is a small "O" logo on the left of the shirt made of vines. On the back is a large picture of the two devils from the cover of Heritage.

Think I might grab myself a Katatonia hoodie for the coming winter months.

Did they have the deluxe edition of Heritage on sale? I was waiting to buy it at the show so they could get all the proceedings from the sale

I'm not sure. I saw a bunch of CDs, but didn't pay too much attention since I had the album already.

You get Credence and they couldn't bother to adjust the 2 setlists in NYC by one song...amazing.

Yeah, I was surprised we got it and they didn't cut another song.

It looks like Credence actually replaced Pyre (which previously replaced Credence...go figure). All I know is, I really hope they keep Credence in there for the show on Friday.

I have to agree with the original poster. The show was great except for the idiots. I'm sure that you are referring to the idiots that spent the whole show looking at the phones and laughing and throwing their empty beer cups into the crowd in front of them. Especially the dummy in the Unearth shirt.
