I didn't see every band, but who I did see really impressed me. I stumbled away from Ihsahn's set going, "That was the best thing I've ever seen." And then I saw Therion. WOW. Sanctuary, Haken, and While Heaven Wept were also really good. Only caught some of Mob Rules and Forbidden, but if I was a fan I would've enjoyed them. Last edited by Akumu; 09-20-2011 at 10:15 AM. |

Eldritch.
You know how I told you the other day that I was so jealous over Vanden Plas, Sanctuary and Therion that I forgot Ihsahn was playing, and then got even more jealous? That happened again, because I totally forgot Eldritch were playing too and Labyrinth. IMO, this was probably one of the best lineups ProgPower's ever had. And that Therion setlist...

I still stand by my claim that this was easily the worst lineup this festival has ever had. This point has been reinforced by the fact that I've been looking at setlists, pictures, and reviews - and aside from Labyrinth and Vanden Plas, I'm not even remotely upset about anything I missed.

However, if you re-phrased to "this is easily the least appealing line-up to me this festival has ever had", you'd be correct. It's remarkable what altering semantics can achieve.

Ooh, hadn't realised the Therion setlist was basically exactly the same as last year's tour.
Cool though, because it's a great set.
