Anyone else playing this? I figured another zombie game I'll rent and beat in 3 days. Definitely wasn't expecting a FPS RPG action exploration game. I'm impressed. I'm ready to take it back and just buy it when it drops on ebay but it's already sunk it's teeth into me. Pun kinda intended.

Has anyone beaten it yet and is it worth a purchase?

I was looking forward to this, but it's just a mash-up of Left 4 Dead and Dead Rising, so what's the point?

Nah, it's definitely more like Morrowind mixed with Dead Rising.

Dead Rising is cool but it has Rockstar graphics and too many time constraints.
Left 4 Dead is fun as shit but the campaigns are too short and have little replay value.
Resident Evil used to be badass, but it's sucked since the third one and the newer ones don't have actual zombies.

I think those are really the only ones even worth mentioning... to be honest, nobody's made a FANTASTIC zombie game yet, but I think Dead Island is the closest thing so far.

Truth. And it's really irritating that they didn't fix the longevity issue with the sequel, isn't it?

So, SO wrong. The third one did kinda suck, but 4 and 5 are awesome. I haven't paid much attention to the spin-offs, although I do expect to get Operation: Raccoon City and the remastered Code: Veronica, as well as the remastered 4. And where's my fucking PSP one, Capcom? Hmm?

It takes mediocre bits from existing games and makes them into a larger mediocre game. It even tries to borrow Dead Space's atmosphere and put it in RE5's setting. They might as well have just tried to remake House of The Dead for all the new ideas it's got in it. I might pick it up when it's sub-£10, because it's still a zombie game and therefore a required part of the collection.

And as an old school Resident Evil fanboy, it's really hard for me to get into the new ones. RE2 was the greatest, in its time. I'm hoping the new Operation Raccoon City is good because it goes back to that storyline.
