Skeletonwitch -- Austin, TX -- September 2nd, 2011
Venue: Emo's
Upon Wings of Black Submit to the Suffering Crushed Beyond Dust Reduced To The Failure of Prayer ![]() Beyond the Permafrost Sacrifice for the Slaughtergod ![]() Strangled by Unseen Hands Infernal Resurrection Fire From the Sky Within My Blood ![]() ![]() Skeletonwitch absolutely destroyed as usual. The new songs sounded great and their new drummer is excellent. Can't wait to see them come back as a headliner. Stuck around for a few Devildriver songs. They played Hold Back the Day and Dead to Rights near the beginning of their set.

Nice setlist. Seen them in 2009 opening for BDM/COB and they were great. Never even heard of them at the time either.

skeletonwitch were definitely awesome. This was my first time seeing them. I missed the beginning of their set unfortunately. The merch guy for Skeletonwitch was really funny too. He was asking me why it was so fucking hot in Texas, and he was trying to chug his beer before it got warm but it wasn't working for him. I didn't think they would be playing so early. I stuck around for all of devildriver. Setlist as follows:
End of the Line Hold Back the Day Dead to Rights Clouds Over California Fate Stepped I Could Care Less Not All Who Wander Are Lost Grinfucked Pray For Villans You Make Me Sick Nothings Wrong Head On To Heartache Impending Disaster Meet the Wretched Before the Hangman's Noose Last edited by maxpower; 09-02-2011 at 09:44 PM. |

Seeing them headlining an off-date here in Lawrence next month. Would be happy with this set (especially with Sacrifice for the Slaughtergod and Fire From the (motherfucking) Sky) but I'd definitely be okay with Soul Thrashing Black Sorcery and maybe an oldie like The Skullsplitter.
But for an opening band, that's tits.

I think it's a pretty good offering of their albums.

So are these warm up shows with DevilDriver headlining or did the Arch Enemy tour start already?

They're doing an off-date in Atlanta with Devildriver on Tuesday. Fuck, I would love to go to that.
