Metal Hammer's Tribute To The Black Album

Did anyone else see this came out today? I had no clue this was happening:

Quote:
Metallicas BLACK ALBUM celebrates its 20th birthday, so METAL HAMMER GERMANY created a special edition magazine with more than 80 pages, lots of interviews and behind the scenes stuff, articles, four mega posters and much more, which is included in the issue 09/2011 of METAL HAMMER, to be released on August 24th. Additional extra item is a tribute-CD on which bands such as DevilDriver, Doro, Borknagar, Finntroll or Callejón cover all original album tracks. The Metallica special edition magazine is not available in record stores. It is only sold together with the magazine.

Lemmy - ‘Enter Sandman'
The New Black - ‘Sad But True'
Devildriver - ‘Holier Than Thou'
Dark Age - ‘The Unforgiven'
Callejon - ‘Wherever I May Roam'
I.C.S. Vortex - ‘Don't Tread On Me'
Neaera - ‘Through The Never'
Doro - ‘Nothing Else Matters'
Motorjesus - ‘Of Wolf And Man'
Finntroll - ‘The God That Failed'
Borknagar - ‘My Friend Of Misery'
Sodom - ‘The Struggle Within'
Some of those look pretty damn interesting.

I wanna hear ICS Vortex do "Don't Tread On Me" and Sodom doing "The Struggle Within".

This... and Finntroll. Lemmy doing ES will be skipped immediately. Zero interest in hearing that suckfest

Yeah, this was announced ages ago.

Lemmy doing Enter Sandman is actually very good. But it's also about 14 years old.

Only care about The New Black doing Sad But True, personally.

Doro doing Nothing Else Matters is kind of cliche. I wish she sang something heavier.

Oh well, at least she's better a singing ballads than James is.

I was thinking she might actually make that song listenable for me.

I didn't see anything announced so that's why i posted the link. I saw it was released today and I'm very intrigued.

Haven't hear any of the songs yet, I'll hope to at some point tonight.

Oh that's undeniable but that wasn't my point. My point was I'm tired of girls in metal put in charge of fluffy ballads.

Someone's put all the songs on YouTube. I've heard bits and pieces and it sounds solid.
