I honestly didn't expect to enjoy them but I did. Not really my kind of thing as a bit too "happy" but can't deny they were good at what they do and went down very well.

Why does it seem that the bands with good new albums only seem to want to play a couple new tracks off of them, and the bands with shitty/mediocre new albums always insist on playing a ton of tracks off of it? This is the Heavenly Ecstasy Tour, not God's Equation Tour Pt. 2. Drop Alien Kamikaze, Hallo Spaceboy, and Evolution Exceed. Play Into the Aftermath and Follow Your Way off the new disc, and add another classic track, like Supremacy Our Kind or The Seven Sacred Promises.

Alien Kamikaze as an encore?
And yes, please drop Hallo Spaceboy......permanently. I hope they come to the U.S.

One of the biggest regrets I have musically is missing the one of only 2 US headlining shows from Pagan's Mind. It was at Station 4 in St. Paul, and I had a free ticker.
But I had a gig that night so I couldn't go. Until Pagan's mind comes back to town headlining, I'll never forgive myself for that. Anyways, besides all that. This is an awesome setlist, and the new album is phenomenal.

I knew if I didn't go see Pagan's Mind at ProgPower X, I'd probably never get to see them. So glad I did. One of my favorite concerts and I got to meet them.

Got to see Pagan's Mind open for Stratovarius at Sonar in Baltimore, MD in September 2009. Great show, but PM CLEARLY displayed that they were the better band that night. Stratovarius's "headlining" set seemed like an after-thought after they annihilated the place. Hell, a whole bunch of people stepped out early to hang out with the PM guys outside. Managed to get pictures and talk a little with all the guys but Jorn Viggo (my favorite, go figure). GREAT set and night, worth the 3-4 hour drive.

Guess I'll throw my story in, too. ProgPower USA VIII. By some miracle, Celestial Entrance was my first metal album, a good two or three years before I actually got into the genre. Five years later, they were playing Atlanta and I wasn't going to miss it. 28 hour bus ride each way, but it was worth every second and every penny. Still probably my personal favorite set out of any that I've seen, and they just blew away everyone else that weekend. Plus, seeing Nils do Welcome Home by King Diamond the next night was just...
All incredibly nice guys, as well. Need to get them touring over here. Regrettably, I missed the MA date of the Stratovarius tour because it was 18+, but I wasn't yet.As for the set: Alien Kamikaze doesn't belong after Through Osiris' Eyes, play less God's Equation tracks because it was their worst disc (still not bad by any stretch of imagination, though), and god damn it guys, you DID record Infinity Divine once upon a time (twice, actually), can you atleast acknowledge it's existence? Angels Serenity or Embracing Fear would be incredible. Last edited by JuuKun; 05-24-2011 at 11:12 PM. |

I suspect they chose not to play too many new ones as the album wasn't out until 3 days after the gig. Though it was on sale at the merch stand.
Interestingly the set list on stage was as follows with the songs after the "/" crossed out in marker pen. The ? marks are where it was crossed out to the point that I can't read what it said. Seems they have prepared to vary the set: Intro Eyes Of Fire Enigmatic Mission Walk Away In Silence Aegean Shores / Entrance Stargate Ronny Solo Gods Equation United Alliance Instrumental / Farewell Hallo Spaceboy / Never Walk Alone / Live Your Life LAD Evolution Exceeded / Follow Your Way When Angels Unite Intermission Xtra Nummer: Celestine Prophecy Alien Kamikaze Through Osiris’ Eyes ? Revelation To The End ?
