UFO -- Foxboro, MA -- May 14th, 2011

This show was interesting. I am a good news/bad news person. Thus, I will break it down that way. Bad news always first;

Bad News-

- Set was shortened by three significant songs (This Kid's, Lights Out, and Rock Bottom not played)

- Showcase Live booked a Poison Tribute band (For the love of God!!) to play after UFO's set.

- Show was done and over at 10:05.

-The douche bag MC tried to convince the confused and somewhat irate crowd that UFO " rocked you for 95 minutes ".

-UFO's merch sucks.

- After talking to a guy, who let me know about the Poison Tribute band, I knew the set was going to be cut short.

Good News-

- UFO were great! Here's the set;

The Wild, Willing, and Innocent
Mother Mary
Saving Me
Let It Roll
I'm A Loser
Only You Can Rock Me
Try Me
Ain't No Baby
Too Hot To Handle
Love To Love
Doctor Doctor
Shoot Shoot

It took a couple of tunes to get the sound right, but they were great! I need to buy The Visitor!

I saw UFO play the omitted songs at Rocklahoma so I wasn't too bummed out. I really liked this set! I even heard some guy requesting Making Moves.

We caught one tune from the opening band. I think they were called Last Perfect Thing. I thought they were ok.

My main reason for posting the set was to warn people seeing shows at Showcase Live to be wary if another band is scheduled for an aftershow. Seriously, how can a venue hose UFO and their fans for a Poison tribute bands? The only good about a Poison tribute band are the chicks, and even they may have been questionable................

Glad I saw the full set at JAXX, but how in the WORLD can someone book and snub UFO like that?

I will agree that I was underwhelmed by the merch. ZO2 had WAY better merch in terms of variety and quality.

Is it that hard to do a cool t-shirt, UFO? :/
Or perhaps sell an actual CD at *your* merch booth??!
They had a couple CD booklets from 'The Visitor' lying about, but no CDs..

Poison Tribute Band?

Seriously, a Poison tribute band over UFO? WTF, I'd be pissed. Saw UFO many times with Schenker, and This Kid's was always one of my favorites along with Rock Bottom.
