Its a great album, but there hasn't really been a MoP of this generation. I think the only album that came close as Vol. 3 by Slipknot, and I'm saying that in the sense that it drove them to super-stardom, every kid from the ages of 12-18 owned it, loved it and seen them live, and it will live on as being high in the list of people of this generations influences and early musical loves.

I can understand thinking The Blackening is as great as Master Of Puppets but in terms of popularity The Blackening is nowhere near Puppets.

Screw popularity. I'm talking in sense of musical terms. Vol. 3 was very popular, don't get me wrong, but it is no where near a classic album as MOP was. The Blackening is brilliant. Every song is perfect. I'm not saying it's as good as MOP, I'm just saying it's as close to a MOP as any other album in the past 11 years. You can't argue that.

You're certainly entitled to your own opinion, but I don't understand how anyone can view The Blackening as anything more than a mediocre album.

Thanks for respecting my opinion El Gordo, but how can you say that The Blackening is just mediocore?
