R.I.P. Frankie Sparcello (Exhorder)

Damn, just saw this was posted the other day. Sucks to hear about this. I was looking forward to seeing Exhorder come to LA one day, hope this doesnt discourage the band from continuing

Quote:
Bassist Frankie Sparcello (pictured below) of reactivated legendary New Orleans metallers EXHORDER passed away earlier today (Tuesday, March 22). More information will be made available shortly.

Sparcello joined EXHORDER prior to the recording sessions for the band's sophomore album, "The Law", which came out in 1992. The group broke up a short time later and reformed with its original lineup a few years later. Sparcello rejoined EXHORDER in 2009 and was scheduled to perform with the band at this year's Maryland Deathfest IX, which is set to take place May 26-29, 2011 at Sonar in Baltimore.

EXHORDER played the first concert with its new drummer Seth Davis on December 10, 2010 at The Hangar in the band's hometown. Video footage of the performance can be viewed below.

Seth had been working closely with longtime EXHORDER sticksman Chris Nail in preparation for taking over drum duties for the band's live performances as well as the upcoming recordings.

EXHORDER's lineup for the December 10, 2010 concert was as follows:

Kyle Thomas - Vocals
Vinnie Labella - Guitar
Jay Ceravolo - Guitar
Seth Davis - Drums
Frankie Sparcello - Bass

Wonder how this will effect the MDF show.

Hopefully they will find a replacement by then. They've been making a big thing about how they were playing MDF, so I'm sure they will figure something out.

Terrible news, totally shit on my day. Hopefully they get a replacement for MDF, they're one of the main reasons I'm going. R.I.P.

Just found out that they're not canceling their show at MDF, so it's good to know they're still going through despite the loss.

Without Exhorder, there probably wouldn't be Pantera, and from there you can see how many bands wouldn't exist. So it definitely sucks, although I haven't ever listened to them. I know how influential they were, though.

RIP. I know if I did a 101 albums that changed my life Exorder - The Law would be in my Top 20.

As much as Exhorder is credited for influencing Pantera I've read several places that The Law was majorly influenced by Pantera and it shows. Slaughter in the Vatican made them famous worldwide but The Law was their true masterpiece.

One of the best metal albums ever made...
