More artists are in talks to sign on. I would like to see Ripper, Dickinson, Anselmo & Howard Jones from KsE participate too.

I could see Ripper Owens jumping on this because Dio is an artist who is an established name in the metal world, so he can leech off the hard work of others like he has his whole career.

Dickinson would be cool. Since Maiden does Blood Brothers in tribute to Ronnie now, it makes sense to try and see if he can do it.

I'm not convinced by some of this though.

Rob Halford doing Long Live Rock 'n' Roll? Grohl doing Mob Rules is going to be horrible. And Alice Cooper is apparently going to do an Elf track.

Jericho has covered Dio before, so I don't need to hear that.

This really sounds like Wendy going for big names to sell copies rather than actually appropriate singers.

Tribute albums are usually not good at all, so I'm not excited about this.

And, yeah, that douche Anselmo should never sing a Dio song. Stick to your shitty bands, Phil.

It's all dependent on the singers. The Alice Cooper tribute album 'Humanary Stew' is awesome, for instance. There are great ones for Queen, Sabbath, Ozzy, Maiden, Metallica and Priest too.

J. Ahola sang the hell out of "Heaven and Hell" probably one of the best vocal covers of it that I have heard. And Rob Rock can sing some fucking Dio, check out his cover of Last in Line.

He was part of a Dio tribute in Orlando shortly after Dio passed. I believe it was at the same venue seen in that video above.

Those who don't know who he is by name will recognize him from some of the better Avantasia songs (Sign of the Cross, Glory of Rome, Neverland).

Russell Allen would be appropriate to I think. And though he is a douche, Sebastian Bach probably.

Damn with all the Ripper hate. Seriously. The dude can sing, and he always seems to get tossed aside like trash. I like Iced Earth, and I liked Matt Barlow alot but Schaffer pretty much threw the guy out like last nights garbage. And I saw him live when he was with IE and he was a stellar live singer, better than Barlow actually.

This could be interesting. Personally, I wouldn't mind hearing Hansi Kursch have a stab at some Dio stuff.

As far as Anselmo goes, I worship him and almost everything he's done, and as much as I loved the sabbath covers Pantera did, I think Phils voice is more suited to the Ozzy material, he may suffer a little trying to hit Dio's range.
