You can add Onslaught - Sounds of Violence to my list. Now this is what I was expecting from Lazarus AD. The song Bomber with Phil Campbell and Tom Angelripper would definitely appeal to Motorhead fans too.

The 1st cd I've heard in 2011 that might crack my Top 10 at years end.

After a good couple of listens, the only problem I have with this release is the vocals. They are not powerful enough. The album switches from a lot of different styles from technical death metal to atmospheric sludge/post-metal type soundscapes but it never seems forced. I recommend it to any extreme metal fans out there (and I'm not talking about shitty Lamb of God extreme).

That's on my list of albums to check out. I heard a couple songs and thought they were awesome.

I've said this before but I think it's a great album. I definitely appreciate the fact they are trying something different, especially considering this is only their second album.

I thought the same thing about Onslaught. Maybe my expectations were too low but I was like WHO IS THIS? Loving it so far.

Listening to Crowbar now. I've always liked them and this album fits the mold. Nothing earth shattering but solid music that would be fun to jam out to live

Good call. I think I like it more than the last Exodus cd though. It's faster and I'm all about speed. hahaha

I'm also all about ungodly slow and the further I get into Crowbar the more I'm liking it. They do sloooooooow better than just about anyone.

I didn't hear Hour of 13 until 2011 also and I can't wrap my head around it. At it's best it reminds me of Sabotage-era Sabbath but some other songs just don't grab me.
