I hate to say it but Lazarus AD has been my bigggest letdown so far in 2011. What drew me to them was the speed and thrash 80's style and this cd is severly lacking that. Some of the songs might grow on me but I was hoping they would go more Kill Em All rather than Black Album.

I loved The Onslaught too, it was one of the best modern thrash records I have heard. I have heard mixed things about Black Rivers Flow, but I am going to listen to it anyways.

The only new album I've listened to so far was Mother of Mercy and it was pretty damn good. I'm going to get caught up with a bunch of other stuff this weekend.

So I've been listening to Ulcerate - The Destroyers of All for the last couple of hours. At first I didn't think the first 2 tracks were so hot but then the album started to get incredibly good at the 3rd track and then so on it has some great parts but others were lacking. After a good couple of listens, the only problem I have with this release is the vocals. They are not powerful enough. The album switches from a lot of different styles from technical death metal to atmospheric sludge/post-metal type soundscapes but it never seems forced. I recommend it to any extreme metal fans out there (and I'm not talking about shitty Lamb of God extreme).
