Glassjaw -- New York, NY -- January 1st, 2011
(You Think You're) John Fucking Lennon
Tip Your Bartender ![]() Mu Empire Stars Ape Dos ![]() The Gillette Cavalcade of Sports Stuck Pig Pink Roses Pretty Lush Lovebites and Razorlines Jesus Glue Natural Born Farmer All Good Junkies Go to Heaven ![]() El Mark ![]() Convectuoso Two Tabs of Mescaline Siberian Kiss ![]() ----------------- Black Nurse New Song? Vanilla Poltergeist Snake Miracles in Inches New Song? I grabbed the setlist from setlist.fm but that looks correct, I honestly tried to remember it on my own but they pretty much played everything so I kinda forgot . On the Glassjaw forum their is debate on what exactly the new songs are called as Daryl called each by a couple of different names. Glassjaw themselves are most likely unsure what they are called as of now.Any way it was a pretty great show. It had 2 opening bands. The first I think was called These People, they were some Long Island jam band but I honestly thought their jams sounded decent enough. The second band was another Long Island jam band called Tidal Arms they are on the Sons Modern label with Glassjaw. I thought they were boring. The funny thing is that Phish was playing Madison Square Garden that day so a lot of people in the audiences kept shouting that to both these bands ![]() Then after a Haiti support intermission, Glassjaw finally came out. And the rest of the concert was pretty intense...besides best buy theater's shitty sound system. They played pretty much the PERFECT set. Tip Your Bartender is actually my favorite song from them so I went nuts when we got that, especially so early in the set. They closed with Siberian Kiss, which would be the perfect way to end any Glassjaw show. But they got back out for the encore and played 4 new songs. The new songs in my opinion sounded pretty awkward. They weren't on the intense side. They were more on the jam band side . So I really wasn't a fan of these new songs. They came off as pretty boring live but you never know, they could turn out to be great on CD. Either way it was a pretty shitty way to end an otherwise great concert . Great way to start the year with a Glassjaw concert though .

i think the new songs are pretty good.
Sons Modern is their booking agency, not a label. i believe this is the first time they've ever played El Mark in the NYC area, including LI. Darryl was blah energy-wise. unless he was sick, it was bullshit.

Pretty excellent setlist. Ry Ry's and anything else from EYEWTKAS would be nice also.
