In my opinion "Don't Sweat the Technique" is Eric B. and Rakims Magnum Opus. It has some of Rakims best lyrics and greatest songs like "Pass the Hand Grenade", "Teach The Children" "Casualties of War" "Know the Ledge" "Kick Along" basically the entire album is perfect.

I saw Rakim at some little shit hole club back in October of 2009 and when he busted out "Casualties of War" I started going ape shit hell I even started head banging ferociously while screaming out the lyrics to the song word for word.....yeah I know sounds pretty stupid but whatever, if you were there and felt the energy and power of that concert let alone THAT SONG you would understand the adrenaline rush I was having

...then again I've seen people do way more stupid shit at hip hop shows.....I remember one time some people were trying to start mosh pits at a GZA concert during the song "4th chamber".

Naw, but he's not that into Slayer (which at this age, would scare me, frankly).

Now MESHUGGAH, on the other hand, he DOES like (and no, I'm not joking). His favorites are obZen and Nothing.

Sweet Satan, I love that boy.
My nephew, whose ten, has been a Metallica and Kiss fan since he was 8 haha, whenever he listens to music in my room (we're playing video games, but I stick on some good tunes cuz his mother listens to the radio most of the time, so he has to get musically educated somewhere ) he always asks me 'is there where people jump and run around? Implying moshing.. Tellin ya man, these young 'uns will be flying the flag for us someday

Also, Powermaidens favorite Slayer album is God Hates Us All too, to be honest, I have found it to be highly ranked amongst proper die hard Slayer fans, it, Seasons and South are usually the favorites.. RIB gets very little love most of the time since its the media favorite..

Slayer

1. Hell awaits (fav album of all time)
2. Reign in Blood (it just flows)
3. South of heaven (fucking amazing album)
4. Seasons (South is slightly better, but that's it)
5. Show no mercy (I do love this album, just not as much as the others)
6. World painted blood (Best album since Seasons. captures the slayer sound perfectly)
7. Divine intervention (dunno why people dislike this. It could use more memorable songs but it's still a great record)
8. Christ illusion (could be better, but definitely not a bad album)
9. God hates us all (the fact that so many people here consider this their favorite slayer album simply baffles me. This album sucks)
10. Diabolus in musica (WTF slayer?)

not counting Undisputed Attitude as it's a cover album, but it sucks nonetheless

On the topic of God Hates Us All, I think it's alright. Everbody is entitled to their opinion but I just dont get how it could be their favorite. I wouldn't call someone who thinks it's their best an idiot I really just dont understand how one can rank it up with albums like South of Heaven and Seasons. My personal gripes with that album are that it sounds a little like it was written to appeal to younger audiences. Maybe it's just me but the lyrics kinda sound like they were written by an angry 13 year old boy who just became an atheist. I dont mean to hate on this album and the people who really like it, im just putting out my 2 cents.

EDIT: Same goes for the lyrics on Christ Illusion. "Life's too short to be focused on insanity I've seen the ways of God, I'll take the devil any day, Hail Satan!" Were they being serious when they wrote this?
