What a great show. Got there about 15 minutes before Landmine Marathon started. At one point Grace mentioned that this was their 4th time at Red 7 this year and said that she was extremely drunk the last time. To which me and my buddy cheered and she threw up some horns in our direction. (the last time was about a month ago when they opened for Floor at a FunFunFunFest after party, the highlight of that show being a hammered Grace getting frustrated with the mic cord and then just heaving the fucking mic stand into the pit) So, she was a little tamer this time around, but still ferocious as fuck. I shot a decent video during the tail end of ‘Skin from Skull’. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_bngXyQiXQ)

Withered played next. I am not familiar with their material, but they weren’t bad. Their faster stuff reminded me of Goatwhore a bit while the slower parts just sounded boring to me. At some point we went inside to get a drink at the indoor bar and play a couple rounds of Street Fighter II. After a Ken v. Ryu match and an epic Blanka v. Sagat showdown we returned to the bar. As I was getting a drink Grace Perry walked up and was chatting with the female bartender. The bartender asked Grace what her name was and I said, “This is the amazing Grace Perry”. I went on to tell her that it was the third time I had seen them there this year and she was very appreciative.

Trap Them was on next. Again I am not that familiar with their music, but I thought they put on a convincing show. It was fine music to headbang to while consuming drinks in preparation for the almighty Skeletonwitch.

I was more than a little buzzed at that point so I didn’t even really notice soundcheck going on. As soon as Skeletonwitch hit the stage we darted from the bar in the back to the front right side of the stage. We were able to procure a spot right in front to do the thrashing and the headbanging and whatnot; you fine gents know what I’m talking about. Highlights for me included the entire fucking set since it was my first time seeing the ‘Witch. ‘Sacrifice for the Slaughtergod’ and ‘Within My Blood’ are a couple of my favorites, so I was glad to hear those. I used my spot to it’s fullest and got a video of the encore. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpwrVJ8AFRU)

Great show. Can’t wait to see Skeletonwitch again.
