Blind Guardian -- Toronto, Ontario -- November 26th, 2010
Holy Grail's set (from memory):
Immortal Man For All Eternity (might be a new song) Call of Valhalla Crisis in Utopia Hollow Ground My Last Attack Fight to Kill It might be out of order, although I'm 99% sure that's what they played. I don't know all of BG's songs, so I'll cite from Setlist.fm http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/blind-...-33d2b0cd.html Sacred Worlds Welcome to Dying Born in a Mourning Hall Nightfall Fly Time Stands Still (At the Iron Hill) Mordred's Song Lost in the Twilight Hall Lord of the Rings A Voice in the Dark And Then There Was Silence ---------------------------- Wheel of Time The Bard's Song - In the Forest Valhalla Mirror, Mirror Anyways, it was a great show. Holy Grail was the highlight for me. They were really energetic and the guitarists were on fire. I think Fight to Kill was a great closer and I was impressed that Luna hit that high note in the song. I've never seen a singer headbang so much while singing. Blind Guardian was great as well. Like I said, I don't know all of their songs (I'm still missing 3 of their albums), but they were quite enjoyable. Valhalla was the highlight of the entire night and the crowd was pumped throughout all of BG's set. I don't think I've seen so many people at a Metal show for a band that isn't mainstream. My only complaint is the same one I have at every show; by the end of the show, my back was killing me. It was worth it for two great bands though. Last edited by Spiner202; 11-27-2010 at 12:57 PM. |

Was at this show. Great show, although I didn't like the opening bands. I'll also say that Hansi talks way too much between every song.

With sets like this, I wouldn't care if Hansi read entire chapters of erotic literature in between songs. So pissed that this isn't coming to Vancouver. Makes me rage at our promoters.. Let's just hope that the good turnouts at other cities make them contemplate returning sooner than usual!
PS: Thanks for the HG set. When you say 'new song', do you mean from Crisis in Utopia? Or even more recent? |

I'm not sure. Someone on Last.fm told me that I am thinking of Call of Valhalla, but I'm positive I heard a song in between Immortal Man and Call of Valhalla. Maybe it was a Japanese bonus track or something. I listened to the album right before the concert (and I knew it well before-hand) and I had never heard this song. That is my only reason for assuming it is newer than Crisis in Utopia.

That's so weird. I've been searching all around the internet and I've seen references to a Japanese release containing a bonus track, but no mention of the title anywhere. Gets me thinking it's a cover song. When they were here opening up for Amon Amarth and Eluveitie they played 'Fast As A Shark' by Accept.

I knew I wasn't crazy! They played "For All Eternity"
http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/holy-g...-1bd54180.html That's their setlist from Philly, but it is the same as what they played last night. |

Good catch! I can't seem to find anything about that song other than some live videos of it though.. Wonder what the story behind it is.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nI2F9PmtCJc Really glad that these guys are coming here again soon with Eluveitie. First time I saw them I didn't really know them. It'll be nice to see them with familiarity! I remember just reading that they were made up of ex-White Wizzard members and groaning because I'd seen that excuse for a band only slightly before.. Hahaha. |
