Periphery -- New York, NY -- November 13th, 2010
I actually left before Darkest Hour, but if you're interested in the Periphery/VOM sets:
Periphery: -Intro -Light -Buttersnips -New Song -Zyglrox -Icarus Lives! Talked to Bulb after the show and he said their set did get cut short though. And if there are any gear nerds like myself out there, all 3 of them are playing out of Axe FX's and it sounds fucking INCREDIBLE. Also, Spencer sounds worlds better live. Veil of Maya: -Intro -Crawl Back -Unbreakable -Dark Passenger -Namaste -It's Not Safe to Swim Today I think I might be missing a song or two, and they were also fucking awesome. So glad I decided to keep an open mind listening to them. I don't like close to any deathcore, but this stuff is technical and djenty as FUCK. Rad show.

The lack of Letter Experiment makes me a sad panda, but that is a great set for this tour.

you should've stayed for Darkest Hour they are great.
not bad sets from both bands. but i'm really hoping that is only a partial VOM set.

The clean vocals on Periphery annoy the hell out of me, but their Meshuggah-ish riffs are awesome. I can't wait to see where this band goes.
And VoM are really different than other deathcore, especially with their newest album. Its super progressive, I really dig it. |

I looked up the videos of the show, and Periphery's new song is definitely "Frak The Gods", but with vocals now. Well, if they keep the name of it. They've had that song made instrumentally for a while, even before they had a vocalist. Pretty brutal opening riff; I almost like it without any vocals put in.
