What can I say, these guys just simply cannot create anything less than a masterpiece. One listen through and I was deeply impressed by so many moments. A lot of parts remind me of something Godspeed You! Black Emperor would do, which is just fantastic. I also love the rawer black metal sound they went with this one, that mixed with the incredible soundscapes they created is just amazing. Seriously one of my favorites of the year in just one listen!


I just wish it leaked in higher quality, this transcode sounds awful on some parts. But I'm definetely buying this badboy!

EDIT: Into the Painted Grey's quality is so bad it's nearly unlistenable.

Agalloch have transcended music, they no longer are on the same plane as other melodic sounds but instead orbit far beyond the outer realms of pitch and frequency.

This is simply one of the greatest albums I've ever heard. It might take another listen or two, but I may have found my new favorite album of 2010. And I still gotta hear Atheist's Jupiter tonight.
