On my music player, I have 614 artists. Some of these are single songs from samplers/soundtracks, but I'd say I have about 400 artists on my Zune with at least a full album from them.

Yeah I don't even have time to listen to them all... I really need to go through and delete a bunch of stuff, because it's taking up 138 GB of my hard drive.

You should invest in an external hard drive, their really worth it. Mine holds 300 gb and I got it for around $75.

Oh I do have one. And I have a second hard drive on my computer, but I guess I should have mentioned that the problem is that my iPod only holds 150 GB. I just need to narrow it down to the albums I at least listen to on occasion.

Metal/hard rock/grunge:

Really liked some of the 80s hard rockand metal, esp some where I grew up in Seattle: Metal Church, Heart. Then Nirvana and Pearl Jam in the early 90s

Couldn't believe how cool it was to hear AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Sammy Hagar Ozzy, Judas Priest, Scorpioins, KISS, and Sabbath for the first time in the early 80s

Non metal: Neil Diamond, Lawrence Welk, Huey Lewis and The News

When starting to go to a couple shows with Hot Turkey Ed about 8 yrs ago, really enjoyed seeing Megadeth, Uncle Ted, Maiden, and Ozzy.

I see no reason to keep listening to more bands just to listen to them if you're content with what you have already.
this. well i have 98 artists, 347 albums, and 2618 songs. each band i have in my library is a band that i'll listen to at least on occasion. i pretty much delete stuff that i think is only decent or if i think "hmm it's good but i don't see myself listening to this a lot, maybe once every few months or so." i also get bored of bands fast. that's why i don't see a point in having so many artists and songs when most likely i'll listen to an album, think its alright, and most likely never listen to it again.
